This role includes conducting evaluations, managing medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care in a supportive environment.Qualifications:Education: Master's, Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.Licensure: Current licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or PMHNP-BC).Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical psychiatric experience (5+ years preferred).Knowledge: Familiarity with The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, DHS, and state/federal regulatory standards.Additional Requirements: Must complete TB testing, drug screening, and background check upon hire.Primary ResponsibilitiesClinical CareConduct psychiatric evaluations, including history, mental status exams, and diagnostic assessments.Formulate accurate psychiatric diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.Manage psychotropic medication regimens, including initiation, titration, and monitoring.Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments for patients in acute distress.CollaborationPartner with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other providers to deliver cohesive care.Participate in case consultations and team meetings to review patient progress.Refer patients to higher levels of care or community resources when appropriate.Patient Education & AdvocacyEducate patients and families on psychiatric conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.Advocate for patients' needs within the healthcare system and in the community.Documentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate and timely records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.Ensure compliance with clinic policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.Monitor and adhere to DEA and state guidelines regarding controlled substance prescribing.Professional DevelopmentStay current with advancements in psychiatric care through continuing education.Contribute to clinic quality improvement initiatives and professional growth opportunities.Core CompetenciesClinical Expertise: Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based practices.Communication: Ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively across teams.Critical Thinking: Skilled in assessing needs, prioritizing interventions, and making sound decisions.Cultural Competence: Sensitive and adaptable in working with diverse backgrounds and communities.Professionalism: Committed to confidentiality, ethics, and continuous improvement.Technological Proficiency: Comfortable with EHR systems, telehealth platforms, and related tools.Physical, Mental, and Special DemandsAbility to perform outpatient clinical duties, including extended periods of sitting, computer use, and patient interaction.Regular engagement with patients experiencing emotional or behavioral distress.Occasional travel may be required for training, networking, or community outreach.Join UsAt Mind Body Optimization, we believe in supporting both our patients and our team.
