Lead Estimator

We are seeking an experienced lead estimator for a key role within an established estimating team. The position available is for a Senior Estimator or Chief Estimator, depending on the candidate’s leadership background. This opportunity is based in Fort Wayne, IN, and relocation assistance will be provided for the right candidate.Our team works on negotiated and hard-bid projects in the industrial, higher education, restaurant, and nonprofit sectors, ranging in value from $100,000 to $100 million.ResponsibilitiesGenerate estimates from concept to construction documentsAnalyze drawings, specifications, scopes, and self-performed tasksConduct digital quantity takeoffs and establish accurate pricingUtilize Timberline for estimating and Procore for subcontractor outreachFoster relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and architectsCreate preconstruction, procurement, and construction schedulesDevelop work packages and compile turnover materials for project managementEnhance estimating procedures, accuracy, and project transitionsIn a Chief Estimator role, oversee the department, assign tasks, mentor estimators, and ensure accountabilityQualificationsExtensive experience in commercial construction estimating, typically seven years or moreLeadership experience in an estimating department for Chief-level considerationBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar fieldProficient in commercial plans, specifications, and CSI divisionsFamiliarity with estimating and digital takeoff softwareExcellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilitiesPreference for experience with Timberline, Procore, Microsoft Project, Excel, and WordBenefitsHealth coverage with 90% of employee premiums coveredThree weeks of vacation and five wellness daysTraditional and Roth 401(k) with immediate 100% match up to 4%Performance-based bonus potentialReimbursement for education, mileage, and business expensesAssistance with relocation costsOpportunities for leadership development and career advancement
