This is an exceptional opportunity to partner across HR and key stakeholders to shape and influence how we provide services to all Gilead employees and drive excellence and innovation in HR.The HR Operational Excellence team will serve as a center of excellence for process and continuous improvement of our HR services globally. This team reports to our Director HR Operational Excellence. As part of this team, this position will be responsible for creating operational excellence in our HR services and processes, by partnering with COEs, HRBPs, HRSS, and our HR Strategy & Operations teams to apply process improvement.As the Associate Director, HR Operational Excellence, you will be responsible for shaping, implementing, and continuously refining the delivery of a frictionless employee experience in partnership with Global Process Leads and the Shared Services teams. In your role, you will analyze data, gather feedback from the organization, and engage stakeholders to drive improved process and business performance in support of the E2E Process improvement strategies. This position will work with key stakeholders across the global HR organization: Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent, Development & Inclusion, HRBPs, and HR Strategy & Ops – as such, having strong communication skills, stakeholder influencing abilities, strategic thinking, executive presence, business, and financial acumen are key.The ideal candidate should have strong experience and be well versed in both project management and process improvement techniques and methodologies.Essential Duties and Job FunctionsLead process design and continuous improvement efforts, partnering with key stakeholders in HR, Legal, Public Affairs, IT, and Finance for sustainability and compliance. Recommend and implement improvements, making reasoned trade-offs between ongoing effort, global applicability and efficiency to deliver optimal and consistent employee experienceLead analysis of experience and process performance (cost, speed, quality) to provide quantitative assessments for demonstrating value as well as strategic planning and investments Leverage employee/customer/data insights to drive prioritized service, process and technology solutions to further enhance global service deliveryCoordinate and synchronize efforts of regional HR Shared Services delivery, COEs and Operational Excellence to ensure operational standards are deployed to drive a consistent employee experience that is both effective and efficientSupport our focus to become a metrics-driven organization by building performance metrics and reporting into our HR processes, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are measurable and effectiveEstablish strong standards for ongoing training and documentation for all processes and activitiesMonitor the effectiveness of implemented process improvement recommendations through quantitative and qualitative KPIsAdapt and implement project management methodologies and tools to design and deliver key HR processes, coordinate various workstreams and ensure projects are rolled out to the business in a timely, well-coordinated and high-impact mannerEstablish project governance, outcomes and measures, scope and recommend resourcing. Organize teams, structure the work and set timelines through comprehensive project plans, and ensure timely deliverables, assessing risks and anticipating obstaclesCommunicate proactively with stakeholders and teams to provide encouragement, identify problems and create solutionsBasic QualificationsBA / BS degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; ORMA / MS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; ORPhD and 2+ years of relevant experienceExperience must include leading cross-functional projectsPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience as Shared Services, HR Business Partner or Center of Excellence team member preferredKnowledge of HR E2E processes and added complexities of global/multi-national operationsSignificant experience of business process reengineering and process design at global scaleSignificant experience in facilitating process improvement workshopsStrong knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Value Stream Mapping Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Must possess strong facilitation and influencing skillsProven track record in strategic thinking, project management and managing changeAble to assess and prioritize conflicting business priorities, quickly resolve issues and address root causes while multi-tasking in a high-pressure environment Able to lead by influence outside of hierarchy and build strong, collaborative relationships within and outside of HRPeople Leader AccountabilitiesCreate Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.Develop Talent - understand the skills, experience, aspirations and potential of their employees and coach them on current performance and future potential. They provide the support needed to remove barriers and connect their team to the broader ecosystem.The salary range for this position is: $157,250.00 - $203,500.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.* Eligible employees may participate in benefit plans, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
