Firmware Software Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 160,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or a closely related field
• Strong proficiency in C programming
• Substantial experience building software for microcontrollers, embedded hardware, and PC-based applications
• Solid grasp of core software engineering concepts, including abstraction, decoupling, cohesion, design patterns, UML, documentation, and microcontroller optimization
• Experience debugging complex firmware and software systems
• Experience refactoring legacy systems while protecting functionality and reliability
• Ability to interpret electronic schematics and underlying circuit principles
• Practical experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, or similar instruments
• Ability to write clean, readable, and well-documented code
• Strong written communication skills and a commitment to producing supportable deliverables
• Capability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
• Experience working with version control systems such as Git and collaborative tools such as Jira
• Must have work authorization to work in the US

• Design, implement, test, and maintain embedded firmware, primarily in C
• Perform continuation engineering on existing products, including troubleshooting, feature improvements, defect fixes, and lifecycle support
• Investigate, debug, and resolve firmware, software, and system integration issues using appropriate tools and methods
• Develop supporting tools, test applications, and manufacturing utilities in Python
• Support manufacturing and production teams by creating and maintaining test platforms, diagnostic tools, and production software
• Contribute to architecture and software design discussions that emphasize maintainability, modularity, and reliability
• Take part in code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and help raise code quality and engineering standards
• Produce clear documentation, validation procedures, and technical design materials for firmware and software tools
