Ops Supervisor - Station

This is a frontline supervisor position that supports the FedEx Safety Above All Culture and manages specific day-to-day operations and an assigned staff. The Operations Supervisor ensures safe and efficient package sortation through the management of Package Handlers and oversees administrative employees and functions to maintain compliance with FedEx policies, procedures and governmental regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Serves as a champion for FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and supports all related initiatives Manages hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition, rewards, performance evaluation and discipline, addressing employee concerns and maintaining staff productivity Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls day‑to‑day operations Assigns and manages employees to ensure safe and efficient package sortation, minimizing operational cost while maximizing quality, including trailer movement, tracking and administration in collaboration with the linehaul department as applicable Analyzes operational performance through observation, reports and collaboration; identifies improvement opportunities and executes action plans Leads daily employee and planning meetings to ensure workforce communication and understanding of daily goals; includes public speaking to small and large audiences on a regular basis Develops and administers company employee relations strategies, maintaining confidentiality of related material Develops and administers company safety strategies and programs Investigates, resolves and escalates customer service issues as appropriate Trains new employees on job duties, performance expectations and compliance with FXG policies and other training requirements, including quality assurance, SWAK, hazardous materials, VEDR coaching and dock safety Mentors and develops critical skill sets for new and less‑experienced Operations Supervisors Adapts quickly to change to meet dynamic business needs; displays flexibility and sense of urgency while engaging employees positively and professionally Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Education High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Certification program or Associate’s Degree in a related area or 2+ years of college courses toward a degree may be considered in lieu of experience Bachelor's Degree (preferred) Minimum Experience Six (6) months of experience required as a package handler at FedEx or in a fast‑paced environment (retail, hospitality, fulfillment center, warehouse, dock or stock functions), military experience with honorable discharge, or supervisory experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team Demonstrated ability to build professional rapport, lead teams and positively influence diverse groups Proven ability to apply sound business judgment to establish and accomplish goals Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audience levels and group sizes Ability to provide employee instruction on processes and practice Ability to read, interpret and draw conclusions from numerical data and written information Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web‑based applications Maintains a working knowledge of relevant technology‑based projects and computer‑based applications Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource to other employees Job Conditions May need to lift and carry up to 50 pounds May work in hot or cold temperatures May work in an environment with loud noise and fumes Minimal travel required Pay Transparency Pay: $24.75 – $38.43 per hour Additional Details: Position is full‑time 30 hours. Schedule is Preload/Early Mornings. Applicants must be able to work various schedules including weekends. Pay Transparency Statement: The compensation listed reflects the pay range reasonably expected for this posted position at the posted location. Actual pay is determined by several job‑related factors including, but not limited to, experience, tenure, market level and schedule. In California, this reflects the reasonable expectation upon hire. In New Jersey, any compensable Security and Walk time will be paid to non‑exempt/hourly employees at the state minimum wage.
