Our collaborative culture and our innovative, sustainable approach to projects help us create buildings that matter to our world.Together, we are enhancing the quality of life globally through design.Join us and design your place with Stantec.Your OpportunityYour role as a Senior Medical Planner and Behavioral Health specialist is to partner and support our national and regional health sector’s Behavioral Health/Mental Health team with a specific emphasis on leading growth and strategy in California.Your Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development: Serve as the primary conduit for Behavioral Health business development in California, including the development and implementation of a comprehensive business strategy.Advocacy and Inspiration: Advocate for and inspire creativity, critical thinking, and design excellence both internally and externally.Pursuit Leader Activities: Serve as a pursuit leader or support as a subject matter expert in business development activities, including marketing proposals, interviews, and conference attendance.Talent Acquisition: Aid in identifying, recruiting, and interviewing design staff at all levels.Collaboration and Vision: Foster collaboration between offices while promoting and providing a clear design vision.Mentorship: Act as a mentor, teacher, and coach to design staff, guiding them through their careers.Quality Assurance: Evaluate the quality of design and design activities, ensuring a high level of design quality throughout the firm.Brand Development: Develop and implement the firm’s brand, image, marketing collateral, and business collateral.Award Submissions: Oversee and participate in the production of design award submissions.Design Dialogue: Engage staff in dialogue on design, ensure the design process is followed, and influence the use of technological tools.Firm Messaging: Serve as a vehicle for delivering the firm’s message on design.Portfolio Building: Identify and direct project photography, written descriptions, and other media to support building the firm’s portfolio.Ambassadorship: Act as an ambassador and steward of the firm’s portfolio, guiding and educating othersYour Capabilities and CredentialsCreative and Critical Thinking: Engage in creative and critical thought to produce designs perceived as excellent externally.Concept Communication: Hand sketch and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others.Team Participation: Participate actively in project team settings.Leadership: Lead multiple teams on large, complex projects through the development of design concepts.Professionalism: Receive and respond to criticism appropriately and professionally.Trust and Respect: Inspire confidence and garner trust and respect from the project team and clients.Balanced Judgment: Provide a balanced approach and demonstrate good judgment.Quality Assurance: Check the work of others for accuracy and completeness, managing the team to meet project budgets and schedules.Adaptability: Scale processes, designs, and efforts to various roles on the project, the needs of the project, and other conditions.Interpretation Skills: Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building programs, and other similar materials.Presentation Skills: Exhibit strong presentation and interview skills, presenting abstract ideas to clients and client representatives.Cultural Awareness: Demonstrate maturity and cultural awareness both internally and externally.Industry Knowledge: Possess general knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry standards.Technical Proficiency: Understand and utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and NewformaEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Architecture or related fieldRegistered architect in California, preferred.Minimum of 7-8 years of experience.Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
