Job Full Description

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Program Assistants to join a local cooperative team.

As a Special Needs Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with special needs and creating an inclusive and supportive environment for their personal growth and development. This position involves assisting program coordinators, educators, and therapists in implementing various activities and strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant.

Pay: $17/hr
Position type: Full Time, Evaluation Hire

Responsibilities:

1. Support Program Implementation: Collaborate with program coordinators to implement individualized plans for participants with special needs. Assist in organizing and executing daily activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all.

2. Behavior Support: Work closely with the program team to implement behavior support strategies designed to promote positive behaviors and manage challenging situations effectively.

3. Communication: Facilitate effective communication between program participants and staff members to ensure the best possible care and progress for the individuals with special needs.

4. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant progress, behavioral incidents, and any significant observations. Document participant achievements and challenges to aid in program evaluation and improvement.

5. Safety and Wellness: Prioritize the safety and well-being of program participants at all times. Adhere to safety protocols and respond appropriately in case of emergencies.
