Movement & Biomechanics Specialist - Performance and Recovery
SSWING
Job Description
SSWING is a golf performance and movement brand and experience built around a simple belief: how you move determines how you perform. We help golfers understand and improve the way their body moves so they can move more efficiently, perform with greater consistency, and ultimately Own Your SSWING.
\n \nOur approach goes beyond traditional golf instruction. We start with the body — assessing movement, mobility, stability, posture, and biomechanics — and connect those findings to how the golfer moves the club. We combine movement science, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, golf coaching, data, and technology to create a more complete approach to golf performance.
\n \nOur NYC facility is a performance-driven golf environment where coaching, movement, fitness, club fitting, technology, and recovery come together under one roof. We work with golfers at every level, helping them better understand their bodies, improve how they move, and translate those improvements into their golf game.
\n \nAt the foundation of our movement philosophy is Postural Restoration, with a particular focus on skeletal positioning, breathing mechanics, pelvic and rib positioning, hip mobility, and the relationship between the body’s structure and muscular performance. We believe that improving how the body is organized and moves can create greater efficiency, control, and explosive potential — both in golf and in everyday performance.
\n \nSSWING is looking for a highly entrepreneurial, movement-focused professional who understands the relationship between skeletal positioning, muscular performance, and movement efficiency. This individual will play an important role in helping us continue to develop and deliver SSWING’s movement and performance methodology to our growing community of golfers.
\n \nA Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) certification is highly sought after. We are also open to candidates with a strong foundation in biomechanics, movement, and performance who have a genuine interest in pursuing PRI certification and further developing their expertise.
\n \nThe ideal candidate is not simply a practitioner — they are a coach, educator, problem solver, and collaborator who can translate complex movement concepts into practical, actionable solutions for golfers.
\n \nEmployment Type & Schedule
\n \nThis role requires a minimum of 3 days per week on-site, including evening availability until 8:00 PM, with weekend availability as needed to accommodate client scheduling.
\n \nReliable, consistent weekly availability is essential. Candidates should be able to commit to this schedule without conflicting obligations.
\n \n \nCompensation
\nThis is a revenue-share, cash-based role, with compensation tied to sessions delivered and packages sold. The model provides meaningful earning potential for a provider who builds and maintains a strong caseload.
\n \nCompensation structure and earning examples will be discussed in detail during the interview process. SSWING does not bill insurance.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\nMovement & Performance Assessments
\nConduct comprehensive, data-driven movement assessments to identify mobility limitations, stability imbalances, postural patterns, and biomechanical inefficiencies. Translate assessment findings into practical strategies that improve movement quality, performance, and golf-specific power, speed, and consistency.
\n \nIndividualized Performance Programming
\nDesign and deliver customized 1:1 performance plans based on each client's movement profile, goals, and timeline. Establish a foundation of efficient movement and positioning, then progressively develop mobility, stability, strength, speed, and power.
\n \nRecovery & Regeneration
\nDevelop recovery strategies that help clients move and perform consistently between training sessions and rounds of golf. Programming may include mobility, soft-tissue techniques, breathing and down-regulation, load management, and post-round recovery protocols. Educate clients on foundational recovery habits such as sleep, hydration, and training load.
\n \nGroup Training
\nLead engaging, expertly coached group sessions focused on movement quality, mobility, stability, rotational control, sequencing, and total-body functional strength. Provide appropriate progressions and regressions for varying ability levels.
\n \nGolf Performance Integration
\nWork closely with SSWING's PGA Professional to connect movement strategies with golf-specific mechanics and performance goals.
\n \nClient Education
\nMake complex movement and performance concepts understandable and actionable. Educate clients on how their body moves, why it matters, and how to apply what they learn both inside and outside the facility.
\n \n \n \nTechnology & Data
\nUse SSWING's technology, assessment tools, and performance data to establish baselines, track progress, and communicate measurable outcomes to clients.
\n \nBusiness & Program Development
\nThink beyond the session. Help develop new programs, workshops, corporate wellness opportunities, digital education, and other offerings that expand SSWING's movement and performance platform.
\n \nPerformance Expectations
\nThis is an entrepreneurial, revenue-share opportunity. Success comes from building strong client relationships, delivering exceptional results, and developing a sustainable book of business.
\n \nWithin the first 90–180 days, the successful provider will be expected to:
\n- Build and maintain a growing caseload of active 1:1 clients
\n- Develop a consistent weekly volume of sessions
\n- Convert movement assessments into ongoing client relationships and packages
\n- Contribute meaningfully to group programming
\n- Participate in the development or delivery of at least one broader SSWING initiative, such as a corporate wellness program, workshop, or digital course each quarter
\n- Establish mutually agreed-upon performance goals during onboarding and review progress at the 90-day check-in
\n \nQualifications
\n \nEducation & Credentials
\n- Bachelor's degree or higher in kinesiology, exercise science, biomechanics, athletic training, or a related movement science field
\n- Advanced credentials such as DPT, ATC, DC, MS, or PhD in biomechanics are welcome but not required
\n- At least one recognized movement or performance certification such as PRI, TPI, CSCS, FMS/SFMA, or FRC
\n- PRI certification, or a strong interest in pursuing PRI certification, is highly desirable
\n \nExperience
\n- 3+ years of hands-on experience in movement assessment, performance training, athletic training, or postural/biomechanical coaching
\n- Experience designing and delivering mobility, recovery, regeneration, breathing, and performance programming for active individuals or athletes
\n- Experience working with golfers or other rotational athletes is highly desirable
\n- Demonstrated ability to translate assessments into practical, progressive programming
\n \nSkills & Attributes
\n- Deep, applied understanding of biomechanics, movement science, and performance training
\n- Strong understanding of recovery and regeneration and how they integrate into a broader performance plan
\n- Excellent coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills
\n- Ability to make complex concepts simple, practical, and actionable
\n- Confidence leading both individual and group sessions
\n- Comfort using technology and data to assess and communicate progress
\n- Genuine interest in golf and enthusiasm for learning the game, practicing, and understanding the SSWING methodology
\n- Entrepreneurial mindset with the initiative to build relationships, develop opportunities, and contribute beyond the traditional scope of a practitioner
\n- Passion for helping people improve and a commitment to continuous professional development
\n- Positive, collaborative, community-minded approach
\n \nWhy Join SSWING?
\n- Work at the intersection of golf, movement, biomechanics, performance, and technology in a state-of-the-art indoor golf facility in the heart of NYC
\n- Join a growing company with a differentiated approach to golf performance that starts with the body and connects movement to the way people perform
\n- Work alongside experienced golf and performance professionals and contribute to an integrated client experience
\n- Build your own book of business within SSWING's established community and benefit directly from the revenue you generate
\n- Have a meaningful voice in developing new programming, curriculum, workshops, digital education, and performance offerings
\n- Grow your role and career as SSWING expands its physical and digital platform
\n- Be part of a culture built around curiosity, improvement, education, and performance
\n- Help people move better, perform better, and ultimately play better golf for longer.
