SE Global Infrastructure delivers performance-driven energy infrastructure solutions that help utilities, power producers, LNG operators, and other critical infrastructure customers expand capacity, improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and maintain reliable performance at scale. The Electrical Designer supports turnkey solutions—including turbine inlet air chilling, thermal energy storage, district cooling, modular utility plants, and related energy infrastructure projects—by developing electrical system designs and supporting documentation. In this role, the Electrical Designer works closely with other Electrical Designers and Electrical Engineers to gather, compile, and organize technical information related to product features, dimensions, owner specifications, contract requirements, and electrical distribution system characteristics.

• Develop and maintain electrical design packages, including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and installation details for engineered technology and infrastructure solutions.

• Use CAD, VDC, and BIM tools—such as AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, Forma, or similar platforms—to produce accurate, coordinated, and constructible drawings and models.
• Support Electrical Engineers by translating design intent, specifications, calculations, and customer requirements into clear technical drawings and documentation.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, controls, structural, manufacturing, procurement, construction, commissioning, and service teams to support integrated project execution.
• Review owner specifications, contract documents, vendor data, equipment submittals, and field information to confirm design requirements and identify gaps, conflicts, or coordination issues.
• Assist with electrical system layouts for power distribution, controls, instrumentation, grounding, lighting, panels, enclosures, conduit routing, and equipment interconnections.
• Prepare and update bills of material, equipment lists, procurement support documents, drawing registers, revision logs, and other project design records.
• Incorporate redlines, design changes, field feedback, and as-built information into controlled design documents while maintaining accuracy and traceability.
• Verify that design deliverables align with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, customer requirements, SEGI quality expectations, and project-specific specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, model coordination sessions, project meetings, and technical discussions to resolve design questions and support timely project delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to standardize drawings, improve design workflows, reduce rework, and strengthen repeatability across projects.

• Required

• • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Drafting and Design Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or design support for industrial, energy, utility, modular equipment, manufacturing, HVAC, LNG, power generation, or technology infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD and BIM tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, Forma, or similar design platforms.
  • Experience preparing electrical drawings and documentation, including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, panel schedules, cable schedules, and equipment details.
  • Working knowledge of electrical power distribution, controls, instrumentation, wiring methods, grounding, conduit routing, panels, enclosures, and electrical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, equipment data sheets, vendor submittals, contract documents, redlines, and customer requirements.
  • Understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards, and safe design practices, including NEC/NFPA concepts and relevant industry requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, organized, and revision-controlled design documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, construction, commissioning, service, and project management teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple design assignments, respond to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. 

• Preferred

• • Experience supporting engineered technology solutions, modular utility plants, packaged equipment, turbine inlet air chilling, thermal energy storage, district cooling, industrial cooling systems, LNG facilities, or power generation assets.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination, model-based design reviews, clash detection, modular design workflows, packaged plant design, or EPC/design-build project delivery.
  • Experience with electrical design tools or analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, EPLAN, Plant 3D, Navisworks, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of industrial control panels, PLC interfaces, instrumentation wiring, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, or medium-voltage distribution equipment.
  • Experience supporting vendor coordination, fabrication packages, field installation support, commissioning documentation, or as-built drawing development.
  • Electrical design certification, AutoCAD Electrical certification, Revit/BIM certification, or related technical training.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some climbing and reaching is required. This would require the ability to use a step ladder to take measurements or reach behind or around equipment to measure or take photos of installed systems. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
