Med-Surg RN Medical-Surgical

Schedule:

Nights; weekend coverage required.

Assignment Details:

36 hours orientation.

Requirements:

• New York RN license required at the time of submission.
• Minimum 2 years acute hospital nursing experience in specialty.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• EPIC charting system experience required.
• Required: BLS certification; Preferred: ACLS certification.
• Clinical skills: med-surg care, telemetry monitoring, pulmonary care, peripheral line care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Monitor telemetry and respond to patient needs effectively.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
• Manage medication administration and patient education.
• Perform and document assessments and interventions.
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as necessary.

Compliance / Notes:

Flu vaccine required beginning 12/5 (exemptions must be submitted at least 2 weeks before start).

Must complete an EKG exam within 72 hours of signing.

Healthstream modules must be completed before start date; failure to do so may result in removal from orientation.
