What you'll do

The Lead Technical Program Manager will lead the development, deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of cross-functional processes that enable Product, Engineering, Technical Operations, Finance, Compliance, and go-to-market teams to operate effectively at scale.The Lead Technical Program Manager will lead the development, deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of cross-functional processes that enable Product, Engineering, Technical Operations, Finance, Compliance, and go-to-market teams to operate effectively at scale. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to functional and technical leaders, translating business and technology objectives into scalable operating models, workflows, governance mechanisms, tools, documentation, and measurable outcomes. You will lead complex initiatives from current-state assessment through future-state design, deployment, adoption, stabilization, and continuous improvement. You will also function as a central program leader for complex, cross-functional technical programs spanning multiple engineering teams, product areas, business functions, and geographies. You will manage integrated plans, dependencies, risks, stakeholder alignment, and readiness while ensuring that new processes and capabilities are operationally ready and sustained over time.This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director, Program Management.ResponsibilityLead the end-to-end development and deployment of cross-functional processes, including current-state assessment, future-state design, stakeholder alignment, workflow definition, tooling requirements, documentation, training, communications, rollout, adoption, and post-deployment stabilizationPartner with Product, Engineering, Technical Operations, Finance, Compliance, Legal, and go-to-market stakeholders to identify operational gaps and design processes that improve execution quality, speed, accountability, scalability, and complianceEstablish process ownership, decision rights, roles and responsibilities, inputs, outputs, controls, service-level expectations, escalation paths, and success measuresDevelop repeatable operating models, playbooks, templates, workflows, governance routines, and reporting mechanisms that enable consistent execution across teams, pillars, and geographiesSupport the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of the SW capitalization process, including process definition, stakeholder alignment, roles and responsibilities, workflow and tooling requirements, documentation, training, governance, compliance controls, and adoption measurementLead change management for moderate- to high-complexity initiatives affecting multiple teams, pillars, systems, or operating processesDefine KPIs and leading indicators to measure process performance, adoption, compliance, cycle time, quality, and business impactServe as the central point of contact for cross-pillar coordination, requiring frequent and strategic engagement with Pillar TPMs, Engineering Managers, Product leaders, Finance, Compliance, and other functional partnersDefine the end-to-end program structure; identify participating pillars and teams; and map cross-functional dependencies, decision points, readiness criteria, and adoption milestonesOwn integrated plans that include milestones for design, validation, pilot execution, readiness, rollout, adoption, stabilization, and continuous improvementManage risks proactively by anticipating critical-path issues, adoption challenges, control gaps, and dependency-related delays, and by surfacing options to mitigate themDrive completion of process deployments and technical programs on schedule and within budget constraintsPartner with go-to-market and enablement teams to define communications, training, rollout, and support plans for impacted stakeholdersCommunicate proactively on status, schedules, dependencies, issues, risks, adoption, and business impact to stakeholders, including senior and executive managementEstablish governance across initiatives, including operating cadences, decision forums, escalation paths, reporting structures, KPIs, and executive-level dashboardsMentor and coach Pillar TPMs and junior TPgMs; share frameworks, tools, and learnings to elevate the broader Technical Program Management functionManage programs and process deployments across disciplines, time zones, and geographies

Job Designation

Hybrid:Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. Preferred job designations are not guaranteed when changing positions within Docusign. What you bring

Basic12+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional programs, operational transformations, or process deployments in SaaS or technology organizationsExperience operating as a system-level or cross-functional Technical Program Manager, owning integrated plans and managing dependencies across multiple engineering teams, product areas, and business functionsExperience designing, deploying, scaling, and continuously improving enterprise processes across multiple teams and geographiesExperience in change-management, including stakeholder analysis, impact assessment, communications, training, readiness, adoption measurement, and reinforcementExperience understanding complex system architectures, data flows, technical trade-offs, and workflow or tooling requirementsExperience engaging meaningfully with engineers and technical leaders without being a hands-on software engineerExperience using enterprise collaboration, workflow, project-management, and reporting tools, including Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Portfolio or Advanced ReportingB.S. degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related comparable field of studyPreferredExperience leading software capitalization, technology-finance, engineering operations, audit-readiness, or comparable technology-related business processesFamiliarity with process controls, policy implementation, compliance requirements, evidence collection, and audit supportExperience applying structured change-management frameworks in a product-development, engineering, finance, or enterprise-operations environmentExperience leading process pilots, phased rollouts, organizational adoption, and post-deployment stabilizationExperience integrating new processes with enterprise systems, workflow platforms, reporting tools, and systems of recordEqually confident working with executive team members and software developersAbility to distill complex and nuanced business, technical, financial, and process requirements into clear concepts for diverse internal partnersSkilled at dealing with ambiguity and influencing without direct authority in a rapidly growing and changing environmentExperience in a company that has scaled, or experience working across both small and large-scale software development organizationsStrong business acumen and technical background, with the ability to quickly understand and communicate technical concepts, operational challenges, and business impactDemonstrated experience mentoring or coaching junior TPgMs and contributing to team-wide program management frameworksExperience defining and using process-performance metrics, adoption measures, operational dashboards, and continuous-improvement mechanismsStrong written, verbal, facilitation, presentation, and executive communication skills

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:California: $164,700.00 - $266,000.00 base salaryWashington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $158,300.00 - $232,575.00 base salaryThis role is also eligible for the following:Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).Global benefits provide options for the following:Paid Time Off: earned time off, as well as paid company holidays based on regionPaid Parental Leave: take up to six months off with your child after birth, adoption or foster care placementFull Health Benefits Plans: options for 100% employer paid and minimum employee contribution health plans from day one of employmentRetirement Plans: select retirement and pension programs with potential for employer contributionsLearning and Development: options for coaching, online courses and education reimbursementsCompassionate Care Leave: paid time off following the loss of a loved one and other life-changing events
