Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Days and Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Day shift 7:00am–7:30pm, Night shift 7:00pm–7:30am | Required to work 2–3 weekends per 6-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neonatal patients in a Level III/IV NICU setting
• Manage post-operative patients, including those with g-tubes and tracheostomies
• Oversee ventilator management utilizing various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation
• Float to other units as needed based on patient census and staffing requirements
• Deliver specialized care to high-acuity neonatal patients within a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of total NICU Level III/IV experience (Level III and Level IV experience may be combined to meet the 2-year total)
• Minimum of 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience required
• Active Wisconsin RN license or valid compact state RN license
• BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• NRP certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Must pass a telemetry/cardiac rhythm interpretation exam prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam); two attempts permitted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a broad range of invasive and noninvasive ventilation modes in a neonatal population
• Background in a Level IV NICU at a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center
• Familiarity with post-operative neonatal care including trach/vent and g-tube management
