A highly established regional insurance defense firm with 100+ attorneys is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Associate Attorney to join its growing practice.

Founded more than 20 years ago, the firm has expanded to seven offices across Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina and focuses exclusively on insurance defense. Its attorneys represent insurers, employers, self-insured funds, government entities, and other institutional clients across sophisticated workers' compensation and civil-defense matters.

Job Details

Responsibilities
Represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation matters
Manage claims from initial referral through resolution
Conduct depositions
Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
Draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
Review medical records and evaluate causation and damages
Develop case strategy and provide recommendations to clients
Communicate regularly with carriers, employers, and insured clients
Negotiate settlements and assist with trial/hearing preparation

Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active bar admission in the applicable state
Prior workers' compensation or insurance-defense experience preferred
Litigation experience strongly valued
Strong legal writing and analytical skills
Ability to manage an active caseload and multiple deadlines
Strong communication and client-management skills
Interest in developing a long-term workers' compensation defense practice
