About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year experience required. Will consider first-time travelers with extensive Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit/open heart experience (2+ years required). License: Must have an active state RN license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS. Must-Have: Charge experience preferred. Experience with a patient ratio of 1:2 in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit setting. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The shift is 3 days for 12 hours, from 07:30 to 20:00. The average daily census is 6 patients with a maximum of 8 beds on the unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. Floating within the specialty is required. Weekend shifts are every other weekend. Holidays are required as scheduled. The role includes immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients. There will be a 1:1 patient ratio for the first 12 hours post-surgery. The nurse will be responsible for ventilator management in collaboration with respiratory therapy. Required skills include management of arterial lines, central lines, and monitoring of critically ill patients. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with cardiac and vascular diagnoses. Special procedures include managing various cardiac surgical interventions. Knowledge of continuous renal replacement therapy and intra-aortic balloon pump management is preferred. The registered nurse will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
