CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

Seeking a dedicated and experienced CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in open heart and endovascular surgery, with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in an acute care setting.

Location

Position based in the city and state of your choice within the region, requiring travel to various facilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and scrubbing for cardiovascular surgeries.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
• Work collaboratively with surgeons and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient assessments and report any changes in health status.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards in the operating room.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in open heart surgery and endovascular procedures.
• Ability to scrub and assist in surgeries, including holding the heart and closing the chest.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Schedule

Shifts are typically from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility available. Responsibilities include one weekday call per week and one weekend call per month (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) in rotation with staff.

Additional Information

• On-call response time is within 30 minutes, with access to an onsite call room if needed.
• Floating to the General Operating Room may be required during times with no CVOR cases.
• Uniforms provided by the hospital, consisting of light blue scrubs.
• Unit-specific orientation is provided for one week upon starting.

Cancellation Policy

The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks.

Charting System

The electronic medical record system used is Epic.
