Substation Electrical Project Engineer

Electrical Engineer – Substation Design We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer – Substation Design to join a leading engineering team in the energy and utilities sector. This full‑time position offers the opportunity to lead and support substation projects up to 765 kV, encompassing both physical and protection & control (P&C) design elements. Responsibilities Lead and support substation projects (69 kV–765 kV), including layouts, schematics, and detailed design. Develop drawings, wiring diagrams, grounding systems, relay panel layouts, and auxiliary power systems. Perform QA/QC reviews of design packages, ensuring adherence to technical standards and project requirements. Mentor junior engineers and oversee technical deliverables. Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery. Prepare engineering budgets, schedules, construction specifications, and procurement documents. Support business development, proposal preparation, and client presentations. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (required). Minimum 5 years of experience in high‑voltage substation design (69 kV and above) for a U.S. power utility. Project Lead or Technical Specialist experience. Strong background in QA/QC and client coordination. Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
