Position Summary

This role leads the planning, development, and execution of visual merchandising initiatives across LAGOS' retail and wholesale channels. The role ensures product presentation is elevated, commercially effective, and aligned with brand standards while translating seasonal priorities and product storytelling into actionable visual direction. This role owns key visual merchandising workstreams from concept through execution and serves as a cross-functional partner to New Product Development, Marketing, Creative Services, Sales, PR, Retail, and Wholesale. This hands-on role requires strong visual judgment, independent decision-making, project leadership, and operational discipline. As the function evolves, the Manager will help build team capabilities by identifying resource needs and supporting the recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and development of future team members.

Essential Functions

Visual Merchandising Strategy & Direction

• Lead the development, execution, distribution, and ongoing evolution of seasonal, launch-specific, and evergreen visual merchandising directives, including imagery, SKU placement, copy, templates, display standards, and supporting materials.
• Translate brand, product, and business priorities into clear, commercially relevant visual merchandising strategies and scalable execution standards across retail, wholesale, concessions, vitrines, showroom, market, and special-event environments.
• Exercise independent visual judgment when reviewing store submissions, merchandising requests, fixture needs, and execution challenges; provide solutions within established brand standards and escalate larger strategic decisions when appropriate.

Project & Program Management

• Own visual merchandising projects from planning through implementation and recap, managing timelines, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and priorities to ensure successful execution.
• Lead special projects and process improvements, including fixture archive reviews, account visual-standard tracking, new fixture and display testing, and updates to existing merchandising programs, tools, and directives.

Retail & Wholesale Execution

• Serve as a primary resource for retail and wholesale visual merchandising requests, managing the Visual Merchandising inbox and providing timely communication and direction.
• Plan and execute seasonal installations, resets, windows, vitrines, concessions, showroom and market presentations, press events, flagship initiatives, and wholesale partner projects, coordinating product, jewelry, fixtures, graphics, tools, timelines, and on-site needs.
• Evaluate field photography and execution across stores and partners; translate findings into actionable feedback, training, recaps, and improvements to visual standards. Develop recurring visual communications and maintain an organized archive of field photography and standards.

Fixtures, Inventory & Operations

• Review and approve fixture requests within established parameters, balancing brand standards, inventory availability, business priorities, and operational requirements while providing clear communication and follow-through to stakeholders.
• Manage fixture requests and inventory across Excel, NetSuite, and physical storage locations, including approvals, sales orders, fulfillment, monthly reporting, inventory accuracy, low-stock identification, replenishment recommendations, and future fixture planning.
• Maintain organized systems for fixtures, props, prototypes, event materials, samples, archived assets, toolboxes, and the in-house case line; coordinate shipments and ensure related documentation, tracking, returns, and inventory activities are completed accurately.
• Monitor visual merchandising operational needs, including POS materials, supplies, fixtures, and budget tracking; recommend solutions that balance presentation standards, business priorities, timing, and resources.

Creative Development & Cross-Functional Partnership

• Lead the development and photography of merchandising mockups, prototypes, planograms, one-sheeters, and visual presentations; prepare and present merchandising decks, recommendations, project updates, and recaps for internal and external audiences.
• Partner with Marketing, Creative Services, Sales, New Product Development, PR, Retail, Wholesale, and other teams to support launches, photoshoots, events, showroom setups, market appointments, and product storytelling while providing visual merchandising expertise.

Insights & Continuous Improvement

• Conduct competitive research and trend analysis across luxury, jewelry, fashion, and retail environments to identify relevant presentation trends, fixture solutions, customer-experience opportunities, and ideas that strengthen visual merchandising direction.
• Use field feedback, competitive insights, and execution learnings to improve visual standards, programs, processes, tools, communication, organization, and field execution.

Team Development, Leadership and Travel Support

• Contribute to the evolution of the Visual Merchandising function by identifying future team, resource, and capability needs.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and developing future team members while providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, prioritization, and feedback as the team grows.
• Travel approximately 15-20% and work occasional nights and weekends as required to support major launches, installations, visual resets, market events, wholesale initiatives, and other business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Merchandising or a related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in visual merchandising, retail merchandising, brand presentation, or a related field - including fixture planning, product placement, visual hierarchy, and brand storytelling; luxury, jewelry, fashion, or premium retail experience strongly preferred.
• Track record independently leading visual merchandising strategy and execution - seasonal directives, installations, launches, and retail presentations - from planning through completion, with a strong portfolio reflecting visual judgment and product storytelling.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, stakeholders, and deadlines with limited oversight, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Creative, Marketing, Product Development, Sales, PR, Retail, and Operations, with the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
• Experience managing fixture, sample, product, shipment, and installation logistics, along with inventory, fulfillment, and order management or ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• Experience managing, mentoring, or developing junior team members strongly preferred, with coaching capability and readiness to take on direct people leadership as the function grows.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, paired with written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
• Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (InDesign, Photoshop) and advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
• Self-starter with a proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented approach, and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Success in this role is measured by delivering timely, elevated, and commercially effective visual merchandising programs across retail and wholesale; providing clear visual direction; maintaining consistent brand presentation; and effectively managing the assets, inventory, logistics, and processes that support execution. Success also includes independently leading complex projects, anticipating and resolving challenges, using field and competitive insights to strengthen standards, and building strong cross-functional partnerships. As the function evolves, this leader will establish scalable processes, develop team capabilities, and build a Visual Merchandising function that supports LAGOS' growth through creativity, operational excellence, and financial discipline.
