Maintenance MechanicDarigold is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join the team at our Portland plant. This position will involve maintaining operational status of production equipment, utility systems and infrastructure, working in conjunction with other members of the Engineering Team. Our plants create nutritious products 24/7, 365 days a year so availability to work flexible shift schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed is a must. This is a full-time hourly union position. Darigold is now known throughout the world for bringing fresh, wholesome dairy products and ingredients from the Northwest to people all around the globe.What You Will Do:Install, assemble, and test new and existing production machinery and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulationsMonitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells, or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machineryPerform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely mannerMaintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service, and testing of machineryUsage of a CMMS to schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipmentRead and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machineryDemonstrated ability to plan, organize, and maintain equipment and recordsThis position is responsible for following all Food Safety and Quality requirements as outlined in Darigold's Good Manufacturing Policy, in conformance with the position's Standard Operating Procedures, and in accordance with facility training sessions and materials. The position is also required to report any concerns that may impact Food Safety or Quality to their immediate supervisor, the Plant Quality Manager or the Plant ManagerWhat You Will Bring:Familiarity with MS Office suite and applications, ability to utilize electronic communication effectivelyUnderstanding and experience in preventive maintenanceAbility to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manualsAble to lift 50 lbs. routinely / frequently and be able to sit, stand climb or walk for 8 hoursAble to work in a loud environmentStrong team/verbal/written skills are required.
