Job Title: Electrical Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling electrical and mechanical components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will use hand and power tools, read and interpret blueprints and schematics, and perform wiring and panel assembly while maintaining high quality and on-time performance. Candidates with at least six months of manufacturing experience and a strong interest in electrical work will thrive in this position.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical and mechanical components using hand and power tools, measuring devices, and other assembly instruments.
• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written instructions to complete assemblies accurately.
• Use tape measures in both SAE and metric units to measure and cut materials to specification.
• Perform electrical wiring and panel wiring, including crimping and routing wires according to schematics.
• Carry out machine and mechanical assembly tasks, ensuring components are correctly aligned and securely fastened.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts as needed to support assembly and production activities, where appropriately trained and authorized.
• Complete troubleshooting steps for mechanical equipment following inspection procedure guidelines.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high quality and meeting production deadlines.
• Support all areas of the production floor as required, assisting with various assembly and related tasks.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to pass an electrical assessment.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools safely and effectively for assembly work.
• Proficiency with measuring devices, including tape measures in SAE and metric units.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written instructions.
• Experience with wiring, schematic reading, electrical wiring, and panel wiring.
• Ability to perform crimping and other basic electrical assembly tasks.
• Capability to perform mechanical assembly, including machine assembly and use of a tape measure.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high quality and on-time performance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety in all tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Electrical experience or recent completion of an electrical certification is a plus.
• Experience with forklift operation is beneficial.
• Exposure to welding is an advantage.
• Experience using a variety of hand and power tools in a manufacturing or assembly setting.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting mechanical equipment using inspection procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different areas of the production floor.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean manufacturing facility where safety is emphasized and all necessary tools are provided. New hires train on first shift for at least two weeks, Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with every other Saturday as part of the schedule. Ongoing first shift positions run Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with every other Saturday, while third shift positions operate Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., with every other Friday available for overtime. The environment can be hot in the summer, but doors remain open to improve airflow. The facility maintains a clean, organized workspace, and safety practices are embedded in daily operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Machesney Park,IL.
