Patient Support RepresentativeThis position is primarily responsible for patient support by checking in and checking out patients, collecting patient balances, updating practice system, answering calls and directing callers to appropriate personnel, and other administrative and clerical work as assigned.Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Checking in and checking out patients and properly documenting registration.Insurance verification and verification of patient demographics.Collecting co-pays and balances from patients, getting authorization on credit cards.Retrieves messages from voicemail and forwards to appropriate personnel.Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.Schedules appointments and greets and directs patients and visitors.Instructs patients in completion of medical forms such as history and information forms.Prints and gives appropriate education, scripts, orders and other designated information per the provider's orders.Updates and inputs patient's information in practice management system such as name, address, insurance, etc.Performs other clerical duties as assigned.Qualifications and Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
