Vice President of Engineering

Insight Global is seeking a Vice President of Engineering for one of their top clients in the North Houston area. This candidate will ideally be located in Houston, TX or comfortable traveling into the office 1 time a month. He / She will lead our clients core engineering groups within the organization. They will elevate our client's customer portal, expand their real-time data footprint, and oversee their client integrations. They will also develop a stable tool ecosystem to feed integrations, application development, and AI use cases while increasing the scalability of system-to-system services. The VP of Engineering will be managing a team of mostly remote employees, so having a previous experience doing so is a must. They will also need to have excellent written and verbal communication.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams
- Prior roles managing 20+ engineers
- Recent experience managing software development teams
- Desirable: experience managing platform, data, and integrations teams
- Hands-on comfort with modern software engineering workflows: you won't be an individual contributor, but need to maintain your intuition & mechanical sympathy to guide a strong developer experience and make informed architecture decisions
- Deep knowledge of foundational engineering concepts is a given (e.g. distributed systems fundamentals, design tradeoffs, scaling patterns)
