Tech Dietitian

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• 
  Screen and assess patients to determine nutritional needs and health status.
  
  
• 
  Interview patients and/or their families to gather information on food habits and preferences.
  
  
• 
  Interpret laboratory, physical, and social data relevant to nutrition care.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients on nutrition, record diet instructions, and verify patient understanding.
  
  
• 
  Modify patient menus as required to meet dietary needs.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Minimum of one (1) year of experience in clinical nutrition or dietetics.
  
  
• 
  Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Foods, and Nutrition, or related field from an accredited institution.
  
  
• 
  Current New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist for post-acute care.
  
  
• 
  Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian.
  
  
• 
  Preferred: A Master's degree in a related field.
  
  
• 
  Preferred: AHA BLS certification.
