Travel RN – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and identify patient needs across a diverse population including geriatric, adult, pediatric, and OB patients in a 16-bed Emergency Department
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on patient condition and age
• Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient in a pull-to-full-bed environment with a typical ratio of 5:1
• Perform timely and accurate documentation related to medical necessity within the medical record using MediTech EHR
• Operate department equipment including EKG, Ultrasound, LUCAS, EZ-IO, Omnicell, and Medtronic devices
• May be pulled to provide 1:1 patient sitting coverage as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to practice in Virginia
• Minimum Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing acute diagnostic and treatment cases across a broad patient population
• Familiarity with MediTech EHR system
• Experience with emergency department equipment such as LUCAS, EZ-IO, and Medtronic devices
