Tooling Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Verify and validate equipment and tooling through all phases of product and equipment validation.
\n
• Qualify machinery and support tooling changeovers and equipment installations.
\n
• Perform equipment buy-offs and ensure project milestones are completed on schedule.
\n
• Provide onsite support at supplier facilities as required.
\n
• Analyze and interpret equipment downtime and performance data .
\n
• Identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions to improve equipment performance.
\n
• Work closely with plant, engineering, maintenance, and supplier teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
\n
• Support manufacturing projects from equipment installation through production launch.
\n
• Ensure equipment and tooling meet required manufacturing, quality, safety, and performance standards.
\n
• Communicate project status, issues, and corrective actions effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field , or equivalent experience.
\n
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience .
\n
• Hands-on experience with equipment validation and machinery qualification .
\n
• Experience performing equipment buy-offs and supporting manufacturing milestones.
\n
• Strong ability to analyze downtime, equipment performance, and production data .
\n
• Hands-on experience with CNC machining .
\n
• Experience with block/prismatic machining processes .
\n
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work effectively with plant teams, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
\n
• Willingness to work onsite in Bay City, MI and travel to supplier locations when required.
