Executive Producer, News The Wall Street Journal is seeking an Executive Producer for its video team based at WSJ headquarters in New York. This position is for a deeply experienced editorial leader with exceptional production and management skills who can drive fast-moving coverage of news. The role calls for decisive and collaborative leadership, a passion for delivering high‑quality content, and a strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and audience connection. The Executive Producer will work closely with colleagues across the newsroom to produce distinctive, revelatory journalism for day‑of and breaking news, as well as analytical features. Responsibilities Lead and mentor the news production team in New York, fostering collaboration, growth, and innovation. Drive coverage of daily and breaking news and news analysis, ensuring quick and accurate delivery of all news assets—from clips to reporter videos to analysis pieces. Shape and refine story ideas, scripts, and edits to uphold the highest production values and journalistic standards. Collaborate with newsroom leaders and reporting teams to build news pieces and align with the overall editorial strategy. Partner with strategy, product, and audience teams to develop distinctive news video formats that resonate with audiences. Build relationships with the global newsroom to foster a video‑forward approach to journalism. Continuously evaluate video journalism and explore new storytelling methods. Qualifications 10+ years’ experience in a daily video news environment. Exceptional editorial judgment, communication, and decision‑making skills under pressure. Strong script‑writing and editing experience under tight deadlines. Proven track record in producing distinctive current affairs, business, and geopolitical coverage that resonates with WSJ’s audience. Experience with video series development and production, ideally around news content. Experience building a strategic news vision across coverage areas and formats. Experience working with reporters and correspondents to develop a voice and on‑camera style. Impeccable attention to detail and ability to foster personal development of team members. Preferred experience running field teams. Compensation & Benefits Base Pay Range: $170,000 – $200,000 (subject to experience, skills, and location). Eligible for bonus based on market benchmarks and individual contributions.
