Physical Therapist (PT) - Acute Therapy

Overview Evaluates and treats patients of all ages, modifying the plan of care as appropriate. Serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA) Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients Annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements (if applicable) Responsibilities Demonstrate ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor, if applicable; employ safe body mechanics to reduce injury risk. Show respect by treating patients and colleagues with dignity and empathy, remaining fully engaged with those who need services. Design appropriate plans of care that integrate goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans; adjust care based on patient response and evidence. Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using effective teaching methods. Evaluate clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care. Perform examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to chief complaints, screening results, and history. Produce documentation in accordance with the Clinical Process Policy (CTSCP67). Screen patients to determine effectiveness and need for therapy services, if appropriate. Use support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines; monitor and provide regular feedback. Department Specific Job Function Evaluate and implement intervention plans utilizing functional activities and considering the functional and emotional needs of patients and families. Modify approach in response to patient behavior and performance. Utilize standardized outcome measures uniformly to accurately reflect functional performance. Complete documentation per regulatory and organizational standards. Collaborate with patients, families, and significant others throughout rehabilitation; provide education or family training as needed. Supervise PTA and rehabilitation technicians in accordance with regulatory agencies. Clearly communicate patient performance, changes in status, activity/transfer recommendations, and discharge equipment needs to the medical team. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $36.74 per hour to $63.19 per hour. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
