Position: Library Media Specialist - Willard Elementary School Position Summary: Oversee the daily operation of the school's media center and foster a dynamic learning environment that supports curriculum goals and student growth. This role blends instructional leadership with collection management and collaboration to enhance literacy, research, and digital fluency throughout the school community. Position Details: Create an inclusive, inspiring library/media center that supports student learning Curate and manage a responsive collection of print and digital resources Teach library and media skills to students and faculty Support instructional planning through collaboration and resource development Maintain current knowledge in education and library/media trends Participate in curriculum development and school‑wide initiatives Supervise media center staff, volunteers, and student use of space Contribute to state‑mandated testing and school‑wide goals Uphold district policies and assist with general school operations Pursue ongoing professional improvement Start and End Dates: August 26, 2026 - June 30, 2027, plus 3 additional days in August for New Teacher Orientation. Working Conditions: Full-time, permanent position, medical benefits and pension. Salary range is $70,062–$125,242, commensurate with education and experience as per negotiated contract. Other Requirements: Degree or Certification in Library Science or Information Science from an ALA‑accredited program. Valid New Jersey Educational Services Certification as a School Library Media Specialist. Strong knowledge of library automation systems and digital library resources. Proven experience in developing, managing, and promoting library collections and services. Excellent instructional skills and experience integrating technology into the curriculum.
