Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN requiring 3 years of experience, a compact or MD RN license, and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• On-call requirement of 8 hours per 6-week scheduling period
• Laboring nurses may be required to take Postpartum patients as needed
• Facility follows Baby Friendly protocols

Requirements

• Active compact RN license or MD RN license required
• Current certifications required: C-EFM (through NCC), BLS, and NRP
• ACLS certification preferred
• 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• At least one completed travel assignment required for consideration
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with vaginal delivery, C-section circulation and recovery, and high-risk delivery assistance
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and fetal monitoring procedures
• Experience recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Additional Information

• Scrubs provided
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract
• RTO requests must be submitted prior to assignment start and cannot be changed afterward
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Interviews with the unit manager are not guaranteed
