Basic Job Functions: Nucor Towers & Structures Inc, a division of Nucor, the nation's largest recycler and largest manufacturer of steel and steel products, is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Engineering Manager at our business unit located in Rock Hill, SC. Specific job responsibilities include, but not limited to the following: Lead a team of Engineers, Estimators, and/or Detailers to provide quotes, designs, and drawings for transmission, distribution, substation, or other utility structures; primarily tubular steel poles, arms, and accessories. This position reports to the Director of the Engineering Department. Interview and hire new teammates to build the team. Provide mentorship, coaching, and accountability to teammates. Ensure consistent application of current design policies, procedures, and practices. Manage the team’s priorities and set expectations. Guide teammates to deliver quality work, on time, with consistent results. Be active within Division leadership team to drive continuous improvement and overall success of the business. Support sales team through customer interactions, promoting our value proposition and cultivating deeper partnerships. Make decisions with other engineering department leaders to provide safe and competitive product designs. Travel is required to visit customers, support plants, exhibit at trade shows, and more. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date Preferred Qualifications: Prior leadership experience 2+ years of utility pole/tower structures industry experience 2+ years steel products design or structural steel connection design experience Degree specifically with Structural emphasis Master’s degree in engineering or business Willing to relocate for future advancement opportunities within Nucor Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
