Operations Manager

Job Title: Operations Manager Fairview, MT 59221 Position Description The Operations Manager is responsible for the general management and performance of a special crop processing facility, overseeing processing, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations to achieve efficient, cost-effective, and safe use of labor and equipment. The role involves working with the team to achieve operational goals while maintaining quality and efficiency. Responsibilities Lead projects and demonstrate strong team skills. Continuously improve manufacturing processes and workflow to enhance plant performance. Manage daily records of receiving, grading, binning, cleaning, processing, blending, and shipping of products. Coordinate with Merchandising and Transportation logistics to maximize throughput and profitability, ensuring up-to-date understanding of end‑use requirements. Monitor overall receiving and shipping to prevent long line‑ups, demurrage on railcars, containers, and trucks. Collect, monitor, and analyze facility operations data to anticipate potential problems and recommend solutions or preventative actions. Pull product samples and send to local grain offices for quality analysis. Partner with inbound logistics to ensure proper quality and quantity of product arrives as needed. Manage inventory and materials. Maintain general housekeeping, sanitation, and facility upkeep. Ensure compliance with safety policies, HACCP, and SQF programs. Maintain flexible availability for a flexible schedule, including extended shift hours and cross‑facility work. Foster a team environment of continuous improvement in health and safety, business process, and positive company culture. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent; an Agribusiness certificate preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proven leadership experience managing a plant with 50+ employees. Demonstrated project management and process improvement skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Effective oral and written communication skills.
