Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care across neonate through geriatric patient populations in pre-operative, intra-operative, PACU, and post-operative areas.
• Performs both circulating RN and scrub RN duties, including patient positioning, prepping, draping, and surgical counts.
• Communicates continuously with the surgeon and anesthesia provider regarding patient condition and clinical findings throughout all perioperative phases.
• Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness; obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all surgical team needs are met.
• Accurately records, handles, and labels specimens; manages instrument processing, sterilization, and biological monitoring.
• Acts as patient advocate throughout the perioperative experience, including patient and family education on discharge planning and pain management.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates, Diploma, or BSN degree required.
• Active Idaho RN license or compact state RN license required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of hire.
• Basic computer skills with ability to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• Must be available for scheduled on-call shifts to support emergency surgical services.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Multiple years of surgical/operating room nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Prior experience performing scrub RN duties in addition to circulating RN responsibilities.
