Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift position in our MedSurg unit. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in both post-surgical and general med-surg settings. Candidates should be comfortable managing a diverse patient population, including both 'clean' and 'dirty' patients, and should have experience with various medical conditions and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a MedSurg setting.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize remote telemonitoring for patients as needed.
• Manage patient assignments and coordinate with nursing aides during assigned shifts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license required.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Experience in MedSurg nursing preferred.
• Comfortable caring for both clean and dirty patients, including those requiring isolation.

Unit1W MedSurg: (Cost Center 3427)
2E MedSurg: (Cost Center 3424) # beds
1W MedSurg = 28-Beds (all private)
2E MedSurg = 29-Beds (all private)
NOTE: 2E MedSurg includes 2N & 2S but they refer to entire area of 2E as all one big unit Certs BLS is the only required certification
Ratios1:6-7 Charge Nurse/House Supervisor
They have a Clinical Manager Mon-Sat who acts as both charge nurse & nurse manager. They don't take patients unless the census is greater than 24 then they will take patients.
Nights has a resource nurse who takes a full patient assignment.


Nurse Aides: Both 1W & 2E will each have 2 CNA's on Days but no CNA's on nights


Nurse's Read Strips? No Drips Heparin & possibly MSO4 for comfort measures, but no cardiac gtts Vents Bipap, Cpap, High Flow - all managed per RT


Tele They can have patients on remote tele but there are no monitors on this unit. Tele patients are monitored remotely by the monitor tech on the 3rd floor
