Job Description and Duties

This position can be located in Sacramento or Riverside County.

CARB's Enforcement Division is looking for an energetic, creative, organized, and effective leader to oversee the Diesel Programs Enforcement Branch (DPEB). Under the general direction of the Enforcement Division Chief, the Air Resources Supervisor II (Branch Chief) will be expected to organize, direct, prioritize and support the day to day operations of DPEB staff in their efforts to achieve compliance for rules that apply to heavy duty vehicles and equipment. The incumbent will work closely with the Division Chief in new policy initiatives to further streamline enforcement procedures and leverage technology to improve compliance, and track enforcement productivity; and with the legal office to ensure cases are developed effectively and where necessary referred to CARB legal or the Office of the Attorney General. The incumbent may be asked to participate in the development of new programs by attending public workshops and hearings, reviewing and commenting on the enforceability of the proposed regulations. The incumbent will represent the CARB at conferences and meetings with industry, non-governmental organizations, the public and others.
