Role Description The Registered Nurse at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospitals provides direct, evidence-based patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions. Day-to-day responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient status, coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and educating patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions. The nurse maintains accurate clinical documentation, follows safety and infection control protocols, and participates in quality improvement activities within the unit. This is a full-time, on-site role based in St Joseph, MI, requiring active engagement in a fast-paced hospital environment, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and support for a respectful, inclusive care culture. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan and graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; BSN preferred). Demonstrated clinical nursing skills in acute care or hospital settings, including patient assessment, care planning, and safe medication administration. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, and to provide clear patient education. Commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional ethics. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time in a dynamic environment, and adapt to changing patient needs and unit workflows. Basic life support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or specialty-specific credentials are beneficial. Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
