Surgical Tech - Certified Surg Tech Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Full-Time, Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours (7am-5:30pm) Experience: 0 years minimum License: N/A Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred; BLS required Must-Have: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required Description The Surgical Technician position prepares the operating room.This includes setting up the sterile field and surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions.During surgery, this role passes instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon.The technician also prepares and manages surgical equipment, the sterile field, and specimens. Essential Job Duties Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment. Provide the surgeon with appropriate instrumentation and equipment. Assist the surgeon during procedures. Prepare the operating room for surgery. Keep records of the use of the steam sterilizer. Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator. Keep the suture carts organized and monitor expiration dates. Turn over rooms in between cases. Assist team members with gowning and gloving. Assist with patient positioning pre-operatively. Transport patients from cart to bed and back. Stock adequate supplies for surgery. Perform other duties as requested. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
