We are Now Hiring Diesel Mechanics! Transdev in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. Benefits Competitive compensation package of minimum $24.00 - $30.00 / hour Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks Sick days: 5 days Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability Company paid ASE testing and training materials Key Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, etc. Ensure work orders are completed properly & maintain records of all work completed, including parts and supplies used. Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections. Qualifications 3+ years of automotive or diesel repair employment experience or combination of education & experience. Process, or willing to obtain Commercial Driver’s License within the first year of employment is strongly preferred ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided Mechanic’s tool set. Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason. Physical Requirements The essential functions of this position require the ability to: Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
