Our organization is in search of a Physician Advisor to enhance our Hospital Medicine team. With two campuses and a total of 714 beds, our institution stands as the primary teaching hospital in the borough and ranks among the largest in the New York metropolitan area. After 155 years of service, we continue to receive accolades from the public and peers for our quality of care. Our North campus features Staten Island's most advanced emergency department, a cutting-edge education center, and a medical arts pavilion. Meanwhile, our South campus also has its own emergency department and offers various specialty programs, including geriatric psychiatry, behavioral health care, and substance abuse services.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Acting as a vital link between medical staff, case management, utilization review, and hospital leadership.

• Providing physician leadership in determining levels of care, conducting medical necessity reviews, preventing denials, and managing appeals.

• Collaborating with hospitalists, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate resource utilization and adherence to regulations.

• Supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing throughput, reducing length of stay, ensuring documentation accuracy, and improving patient outcomes.

• Working alongside quality, revenue cycle, and care management teams to develop process improvement strategies.

• Joining a respected and expanding Hospital Medicine program.
