Job Summary

\n

WCT is seeking a Senior Data SRE Engineer to support large-scale data, telemetry, and AI/ML pipelines. This role combines Data Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, and production operations, with a strong focus on pipeline reliability, observability, incident management, troubleshooting, and automation.

\n

The engineer will also serve as an onsite technical interface with engineering teams and coordinate execution with offshore Data SRE engineers.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Own the reliability and operational health of production data, telemetry, and AI/ML pipelines.
\n
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline failures, latency, data freshness, processing errors, and service dependencies.
\n
• Lead production incident investigation, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective engineering actions.
\n
• Develop dashboards, alerts, health metrics, and diagnostic tooling for pipeline observability.
\n
• Automate repetitive operational and troubleshooting activities using Python, SQL/KQL, PowerShell, or Bash.
\n
• Support deployment readiness, production validation, and post-deployment monitoring.
\n
• Identify recurring reliability issues and drive permanent engineering fixes and toil reduction.
\n
• Coordinate technical execution with offshore Data SRE engineers.
\n
• Communicate production health, risks, blockers, and technical issues to engineering stakeholders.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• 6+ years of experience in SRE, Data Engineering, Production Engineering, Platform Engineering, MLOps, or related areas.
\n
• Hands-on production support experience with data and/or AI/ML pipelines.
\n
• Strong SQL and production data troubleshooting skills.
\n
• Strong Python and scripting/automation skills.
\n
• Experience troubleshooting distributed data-processing systems.
\n
• Experience with observability, telemetry, incident management, and RCA.
\n
• Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
\n
• Experience with Kusto/KQL and Azure Data Explorer.
\n
• Experience with Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, Spark, or comparable AI/data platforms.
\n
• Experience with Azure DevOps/Git and CI/CD.
\n
• Experience supporting large-scale AI/ML inference, telemetry, or data-processing workloads.
\n

Compensation / Salary Range: The typical pay range for this role is: USD $90,000/Yearly - $110,000/Yearly. Factors that may affect pay within or outside of this range may include but not limited to geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
