Mechanical Quality Inspector – Ray, North Dakota Mechanical Quality The inspector will be responsible for inspecting and verifying all mechanical and piping installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineered drawings, applicable codes, and quality requirements. The applicant will perform field surveillance, documentation review, and field inspections. The candidate must have knowledge of ASME codes and familiarity with power plant systems is a plus. Civil activities will also be inspected, including excavation, backfill, compaction, concrete and grout placement. Primary Responsibilities Inspect carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and specialty piping systems. Verify fit up, welding, flange makeup, supports, and valve installations. Monitor welding activities, preheat, interpass and PWHT requirements. Verify WPS requirements being met. Coordinate and witness NDE activities. Interface with construction, engineering, quality, and client representatives. Civil Responsibilities Inspect foundations, pipe supports, pedestals, anchor bolt installation and embedded items. Verify excavation backfill and compaction testing. Review concrete placement activities, reinforcing steel installation and formwork inspections. Review concrete and grout placement cards and truck tickets for conformance. Candidate must be a Certified Welding Inspector. Nace/AMPP (coatings Inspector) and ACI (American Concrete Institute) credentials are a plus. Must pass pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test. Must have either Osha 10, Osha 30, or Safety Essentials.
