Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Python Developer to join our client's team on a contract basis, with potential for permanent employment. The role will support and enhance a critical customer communication system within an Agile environment.
The ideal candidate will be an autonomous engineer who can work with ambiguous requirements, design practical solutions, and deliver maintainable software from end to end. This person will also mentor other engineers, participate in code reviews, improve engineering processes, and contribute to overall operational excellence.
Required:
- 10+ years of professional software development experience with Python.
- Strong AWS/cloud computing experience.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and GitHub.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to simplify complex technical problems.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable software.
- Experience using AI tools within software development workflows and validating AI-generated solutions.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
Qualifications:
- Experience in the annuity or life insurance industry.
- Experience working with offshore development teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews.
- Familiarity with enterprise governance frameworks and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Strong technical documentation and training experience.
