Physical Therapist Outpatient

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist provides outpatient therapy services in an acute care medical center and long-term care facility setting. The role involves delivering skilled physical therapy to patients of all ages, including pediatric and adolescent populations, across outpatient, inpatient, and skilled nursing facility (SNF) environments. The therapist will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient rehabilitation, wound care, lymphedema, pelvic floor, and other specialty services. Flexibility to float within scope to meet facility needs is required. Responsibilities:

• Provide physical therapy evaluations, treatments, and interventions to patients in outpatient, acute care, and SNF settings.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
• Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately in the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Cover various therapy needs including wound care, lymphedema, pelvic floor, and pediatric specialties as required.
• Adapt to facility needs by floating between outpatient, acute care, and SNF units within scope of practice.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Physical Therapist license in Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience.
• Ability to use Epic electronic medical record system or similar documentation platforms.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working with pediatric and adolescent populations.
• Knowledge and experience in wound care, lymphedema, pelvic floor therapy, and other specialty areas.
• Experience in acute care, outpatient, and skilled nursing facility settings.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call or weekend requirements.
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected.
• Facility is a Level IV Trauma Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds.
• Housing provided for travelers with restrictions on pets and additional family members; housing must be cleaned upon departure.
• Parking is free.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule options include 5 days of 8-hour shifts or 4 days of 10-hour shifts during daytime hours.
• Guaranteed 70 hours per two-week period, with the possibility of being called off for one 10-hour shift every two weeks.
• Block scheduling accommodations are not available.
