Cook Position
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Cook to join our dynamic culinary team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, nutritious meals that meet our high standards for quality and safety. Your culinary expertise will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where guests and residents enjoy exceptional food experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and demonstrates excellent communication skills with kitchen staff and service teams. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of ingredients and utensils
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting creative dishes that align with dietary requirements and customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning workstations, utensils, appliances, and floors regularly
- Collaborate with dietary aides and kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery schedules
- Ensure all food is prepared adhering to recipe specifications, portion control, and quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling procedures, and sanitation practices
- Experience working in dietary departments or with dietary aide teams is highly desirable
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques that ensure efficiency and safety
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high-quality output
- Prior experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Knowledge of food safety management systems and adherence to health regulations
