Mobile Tire Technician

Mobile Tire Technician Location: Chicago, IL, USA Job Summary Under general supervision, this position is responsible for properly installing and inspecting tires on company tractors and trailers at customer sites and rail yards. The role may require working outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends, and overtime. Full‑time attendance is required. Key Responsibilities Install and inspect tires on tractors and trailers using company guidelines. Observe all company safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Organize and maintain tire inventory for trucks. Ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA requirements at customer facilities or rail yards. Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass J.B. Hunt standards for operation of a company vehicle. Basic tools required; must be supplied by the employee in most locations; employees without their own tools may obtain them through a toolbox purchase program. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 6 to 12 months in tire‑related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team (no direct supervision). Multitasking and discretion. Basic deductive reasoning skills. Experience working in a fast‑paced environment. Proficient active listening, organizational, and time management skills. Self‑motivation. Ability to fulfill physical requirements: lifting above 50 lbs, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling. Wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE). Make time‑sensitive decisions. Compensation The expected starting pay range is between $21.62 and $24.89 per hour. Compensation may include an annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes pursuant to the company’s bonus and incentive plans. Applicants can be considered for I, II, or Sr. Level Mobile Tire Technician based on verified years of experience and position availability.
