SUMMARY

The Barista is responsible for operating the Coffee Bar and providing polished, personalized service in a high-end private club environment. The position prepares quality espresso, coffee, and specialty beverages while maintaining standards for service, presentation, cleanliness, and product quality. The Barista builds relationships with members, maintains knowledge of coffee and beverage offerings, and supports the broader Food & Beverage operation as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and maintain the Coffee Bar, including opening and closing, daily preparation, cleanliness, organization, equipment care, and presentation.
• Prepare espresso, coffee, and specialty beverages using proper techniques and established Club standards, while maintaining knowledge of coffee, espresso, brewing methods, milk preparation, flavor profiles, and current offerings.
• Provide warm, professional, and personalized service by developing familiarity with member names, preferences, and service expectations and offering knowledgeable beverage recommendations.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of coffee, milk, syrups, pastries, disposables, and other supplies while ensuring proper freshness, rotation, labeling, and storage.
• Process member transactions accurately and complete required POS, financial, and shift reporting.
• Support seasonal offerings, special events, and Club functions through beverage preparation, presentation, and service, and contribute ideas that enhance the Coffee Bar experience.
• Maintain compliance with Club and Florida requirements for food safety, sanitation, storage, cleanliness, safety, uniform, and grooming standards.
• Monitor the condition of Coffee Bar equipment and communicate maintenance, supply, safety, or operational concerns to management.
• Work collaboratively with Food & Beverage colleagues, assist adjacent service areas during peak periods, and participate in cross-training as assigned.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous barista, specialty coffee, food and beverage, hospitality, or private club experience preferred.
• Knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, brewing methods, and specialty beverage preparation preferred.
• Genuine interest in coffee and willingness to develop knowledge of specialty coffee and beverage preparation.
• Strong communication, organization, and member-service skills with a professional and personable demeanor.
• Ability to work independently, maintain established standards, and contribute effectively as part of a team.
• Available to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and special events as scheduled.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and follow schedules, recipes, labels, safety procedures, and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with members, guests, coworkers, and managers.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to prioritize service, follow established procedures, maintain accuracy and consistency, identify quality or safety concerns, and exercise sound judgment in routine situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must regularly stand, walk, reach, bend, use hands and fingers, communicate, and remain attentive throughout the shift. The position requires frequent handling of Coffee Bar equipment and supplies and occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a member-facing food and beverage environment with variable service volume, moderate noise, hot liquids, steam, refrigeration, cleaning products, and commercial Coffee Bar equipment.
