RN Neuromusculoskeletal Med Surg Float

Job Summary:

The Level II Registered Nurse specializing in Neuromusculoskeletal Medical/Surgical care is responsible for delivering competent, evidence-based nursing care under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This role includes patient assessment, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The nurse may also take on expanded duties such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member. The position requires at least two years of medical/surgical experience, telemetry skills, and certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State (NY only).
• Minimum of two years medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Telemetry experience required.
• Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in neuromusculoskeletal patient care.
• Previous charge nurse or preceptor experience.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as EPIC.

Special Considerations:

• Must be available for weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback shifts as required.
• Rotating shifts including day, evening, and night shifts on inpatient units.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with telemetry monitoring.
• Compliance with hospital policies including TB skin testing and other health screenings.

Scheduling:

• 36 or 48 hours per week, with blocked weekends.
• Shift types include day, evening, night, and rotating shifts as assigned.
• Shift assignments and on-call duties are determined by unit needs and nurse manager direction.
