Also performs electrical maintenance and repairs of plant production equipment and commercial building./ppEssential duties and responsibilities:/pulliFollows all company safety rules and policies./liliMaintains 5S program standards including organizing, labeling, cleaning and sustaining of workstations, toolboxes, work areas and parts shelving and cabinets./liliReads, understands and follows schematics, wire and parts diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturers specifications to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments./liliObserves mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble./liliDismantles machines or equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms. Replaces or repairs machine belts. Performs these duties with the aid of such equipment as hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools./liliHolds scaffolding members in place or tightens bolts to erect working platforms about machines./liliCleans and lubricates machine parts, such as, but not limited to, shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings, using rags, brushes, grease gun, oil can, and other required tools not specifically listed here./liliRemoves dust, dirt, grease and waste material from machines./liliPaints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion./liliMay install and repair electrical systems and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools and electrical and electronic test equipment./liliObserves functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement./liliMay diagnose/troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment, such as control circuits, motors and lighting fixtures, HVAC systems, using testing equipment, and make necessary repairs, such as replacing damaged or broken wires and cables. Troubleshoot to component levels./liliTests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment and discusses malfunction with other maintenance employees to diagnose malfunction. Replaces faulty electrical components of machinery, such as wiring, fuses, relays, switches, electric motor bearings and motors and positions sensing devices./liliMay diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as circuit boards, and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment./liliMaintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order./liliMay repair electronic equipment such as industrial controls, audio systems, transmitters, and servomechanisms, following blueprints and manufacturers specifications and using hand tools and test instruments./liliConverses with machinery/equipment operators to ascertain problems with machinery/equipment before breakdown and to determine if breakdown is due to human error or mechanical/electrical problems./liliTests faulty machinery/equipment and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronic/electrical systems or units to diagnose cause of malfunction./liliTests electronic components and circuits to locate defects, using oscilloscopes, signal generators, ammeters and voltmeters. Replaces defective components and wiring and adjusts mechanical parts, using hand tools and soldering iron. Aligns, adjusts and calibrates equipment according to specifications./liliMaintains records of repairs, calibrations and tests./liliMay connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, using hand tools. May install control and distribution components such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools./liliMay connect power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads./liliTests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope./liliMay bend and cut conduit and wire, and drill holes in walls, floors and ceilings for electrical connections./liliMay connect wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses and splice wire and insulates wire with friction tape./liliMay bend, cut and thread pipe, cut openings in walls, ceilings and floors for pipes, seal pipe joints with sealing compound./liliMay cut out and join parts for worktables, benches, shelves and other furnishings, using power tools and hand tools./liliMay be required to assist with plumbing repair work, building construction/remodeling/repairs, general machinery maintenance or repair duties./liliMay patch or replace plaster or plaster board and paint walls, ceilings, and trim of building./liliMay drill and break up concrete./liliMay mix and pour concrete for foundations./liliMay weld and fabricate a variety of designs, including fixtures, carts, tables, and platforms using MIG, TIG and/or stick methods./liliClears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures./liliInspects products and processes while performing job duties to ensure all work done meets or exceeds standards of the companys quality program./liliWorks cooperatively and congenially with co-workers to achieve cohesive and productive work processes and work environment./liliMay provide ground watch for other maintenance employees using aerial equipment./liliMay be required to assist with spill response clean-up./liliMay be required to train other maintenance employees./liliWill be required to participate in the Authorized Driver program./liliMay be required to drive company vehicles including cars and pickup trucks./liliMay be subject to random drug testing per the Authorized Driver policy./liliWill be subject to an annual DMV Background Check per the Authorized Driver policy./liliPerforms additional tasks as assigned by management or as the situation requires./li/ulpQualifications:/pulliValid Texas Drivers License required/lili5 + years experience in general mechanical maintenance of production machinery to include reading blueprints, wire diagrams, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, root cause analysis, and requesting machine parts./liliTechnical degree and/or license relating to electrical, mechanical or HVAC/Refrigeration - minimum of one required OR 120 hours of documented electrical training. License number and/or documentation must be provided before hire date./liliMust be able to meet all minimum training requirements within first 6-12 months of hire date./liliObtain and Maintain Traulsen/OSHA certifications for powered equipment, including but not limited to, forklifts, scissor lifts, aerial booms, stock chasers, and floor scrubbers within first 90 days of hire date./liliCapable of operating aerial lift equipment./liliObtain and maintain Traulsen/OSHA certifications for power equipment./liliAbility to follow verbal and written instructions regarding procedures required for various machine repair./liliAbility to read and follow repair or installation instructions./liliAbility to use a variety of small hand tools, power tools, scissors lifts, and material handling equipment./liliPossess basic mechanical aptitude and ability./liliAbility to communicate clearly with co-workers (bi-lingual English-Spanish a plus)/liliAbility to read and follow written English instructions and complete PMs and work orders within Maintenance CMMS software. Some ability to write English responses./liliAbility to understand basic online safety and cyber security courses presented in English and demonstrate understanding through multiple choice exam score./liliAbility to communicate through email/li/ulpPhysical demands work environment:/pulliAttend work regularly and report promptly for duty on the days and at the times scheduled by the supervisor./liliSchedule changes occur and should be handled in a productive manner/liliWorking temperatures vary with seasonal changes where climate control is limited.
