Temporary Family Law Staff Attorney - CLA

Temporary Family Law Staff Attorney – CLA CLA seeks an attorney to join its Family Law Unit on a temporary basis for one year. The attorney will be based in CLA’s Springfield office and assist clients with family law matters including divorce, child support, visitation, and custody. The majority of clients are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes. The attorney will have significant client contact, maintain an active caseload, and continue to accept new cases. Additional responsibilities include community outreach, education, collaboration with domestic violence service providers, and possible grant reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current third‑year law students, recent law school graduates, and more experienced attorneys are encouraged to apply. Prior family law experience, especially with survivors of domestic violence, preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated dedication to social justice and commitment to working with low‑income communities. Fluency in Spanish a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Starting salary of $73,000, based on a union scale and adjusted upward depending on experience. Hybrid work environment: must work in the assigned office at least three days per week.
