Nurses on this team are responsible for performing thorough assessments, managing medications and drips within policy, monitoring telemetry rhythms, coordinating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and educating patients and families on treatment plans and discharge needs. A typical day includes receiving and giving structured handoff reports, reviewing telemetry rhythms, performing initial and ongoing assessments, collaborating closely with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, case management and pharmacy, and documenting care accurately in a modern EMR system. You can expect to work within patient assignments that support safe practice and allow for meaningful interaction, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, quality metrics and evidence-based care.
