The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the maintenance department within a production facility. This is a working supervisor position that combines hands-on maintenance responsibilities with team leadership, planning, and oversight.

The Maintenance Supervisor ensures equipment, machinery, tools, and facility assets are properly maintained and operating safely and efficiently. This position also oversees the plant’s Preventive Maintenance (PM) program and manages maintenance activities through MaintainX .

Essential Functions

• Conduct all activities in a safe manner by following corporate safety guidelines and requirements, properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), and proactively addressing unsafe conditions.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety, and inspection-readiness standards throughout the facility.
• Ensure all maintenance team members follow established safety rules, procedures, and company policies.
• Monitor employee performance to ensure team members are meeting established performance standards.
• Assist with interviewing and hiring maintenance personnel.
• Train and onboard new maintenance employees and conduct employee performance reviews.
• Manage all maintenance activities through MaintainX (CMMS), including:
• • Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules
  • Work requests and work orders
  • Purchase orders
  • Parts inventory
  • Invoices
  • Asset costs and repair expenses
  • Maintenance documentation and records
• Ensure accurate maintenance recordkeeping, cost tracking, inventory control, and efficient maintenance operations.
• Perform regular and preventive maintenance on machinery, tools, buildings, and other company assets.
• Develop, implement, and supervise the plant’s Preventive Maintenance program.
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery, equipment, buildings, and other company assets using diagrams, technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, or direction from management.
• Order maintenance supplies and parts as needed while seeking competitive pricing and rates.
• Maintain accurate records of repair and maintenance activities.
• Prepare maintenance reports as required.
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.

Education & Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licenses or certifications as required.
• Previous lumber manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance.
• 1–3 years of experience supervising or managing employees.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and operating manuals.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and maintenance tools.
• Proficiency with common hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Basic computer, reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
