Interim Accounting Specialist

Vaco is hiring for an Interim Accounting Specialist role in Berea, OH (Contract, Onsite). Pay: $20-25/hr. Key Responsibilities Perform high-volume data entry with a strong focus on speed, accuracy, and attention to detail. Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing. Maintain and reconcile accounting records in accordance with established procedures. Apply general accounting principles, including a solid understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger activity. Review financial data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed. Utilize Excel to organize, analyze, and maintain accounting data. Support accounting and finance teams with special projects and reporting requests. Learn and effectively utilize the organization’s ERP system and related financial software. Qualifications 1+ years of accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred. Working knowledge of general accounting principles and debits/credits. Experience preparing journal entries and processing accounts payable transactions. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn new systems quickly, including higher education ERP platforms. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Compensation and Benefits As required by local law, the salary range for the role is noted in this posting.
